Subject: Assignments

Hi to all members of the EOAC mailing list!

ASSIGNMENTS!

As discussed on the forum here is the current proposal before the Board of Directors.

Feedback from the Pilots Union (and members of the management) is very welcome! We really do need to know what everyone thinks.

If we are going to do assignments we want to make them interesting...

Month 1 (February?)

The idea is simple: pilots start at Geneva with the objective of flying sufficient assignments to get them to Paris LFPG:

It is entirely up to the pilots which routes they select - all assignments are optional anyway. Nothing will be policed - it is up to pilots to decide if they wish to fly the assignments or simply choose alternative routes from the schedules. The objective is to have fun!

The assignments are broken up as follows:

At the same time we could offer some brief texts about the locations and their history as EOAC destinations, to add some extra interest.

So, the pilot could select to fly any of the following to make it to Paris in time for March:

LSGG - LFMN - EBBR - EGNT - EGLL - LFPG (5 flights, 7 hrs 10 mins)

LSGG - LBTA - EGLL - EFHK - LFPG (4 flights, 13 hrs 5 mins)

LSGG - OMDB - LFPG (2 flights, 13 hrs 15 mins)

LSGG - LFMN - EBBR - EGNT - EGLL - EFHK - LFPG (6 flights, 11 hrs 50 mins)

LSGG - LBTA - EGLL - LFPG (3 flights, 8 hrs 20 mins)

The reason we leave the actual choice of routes to the pilot is because only the pilot can judge their availability for the month. Pilots could of course fly additional routes...

Next month the challenge would be to get somewhere else. A similar set of routes will be offered - the final destination could be anywhere we choose...

:-)

Additionally, for the seriously motivated, we could add special assignments:

EOAC Americas Assignment (2 months)

By flying this route at the end of the other assignments, the pilot qualifies for a period of flying in the Americas for two months. During this time they will be offered an opportunity to return to Europe. After this, they will be assigned somewhere else (probably Singapore but maybe the planned North American operation). We would upload a series of assigned flights especially for pilots flying these routes.

That's it!

Any thoughts?

Would this be too much?

Too little?

Too complex?

Please let us know either through this list or at the forum.

Finally, I would like to offer a gentle reminder that pilots submitting flight plans, adventures and so on for upload will find these count towards a rapid promotion - especially as we like to take time away from creating flights - Serge has now become a walking encyclopedia of worldwide Navaids and we need to give him a break! Please see the NOTAMs section at the site for full details.

Thank you for your time...

... and Ciao!
